The Method
The Method: Every observation in the order the schools teach.

Make the sheets View: A4 · Letter

The blank is the full tasting notes page with nothing filled in: one page set up for a red wine and one for a white, because the colour decides which words and aromas appear. Each page has a numbered ring, glass 1 and glass 2, and Name and Date at the top, and then the rows to circle for look, smell, taste and the end, from colour depth to how long the taste lasts. The aroma list ticks 24 aromas in four families for that colour, so the red page has cherry, blackcurrant and cedar where the white has lemon, green apple and brioche. The guess sits beside the answer, and the foot has room for a verdict and for what you missed. It suits anyone who wants a decent notes page on the table in two minutes, alone or with a friend.

Choose View, pick A4 or Letter, and print. For a mixed evening print as many red and white pages as you have glasses of each, one page per wine per person. Pens are the only other thing you need, and a white napkin to hold the glass over for colour depth. If you would rather have a page per glass in the right colour, a rosé or a sweet wine among them, or your name printed at the top, the setup takes a minute and still costs nothing. The blank also makes a good spare: keep a few in a drawer for the next time someone opens an interesting bottle. When you taste more than a couple of wines, pour small, spit, and drink water between the glasses.

Questions

Is the wine tasting template really free?

Yes. The blank opens as a PDF the moment you choose A4 or Letter, with no account, no email and no watermark. Print as many copies as you like.

Can I fill in the wine details before printing?

Yes. Make the sheets lets you set the number of wines, the colour of each glass and your name, and those go onto every page. The blank simply leaves those lines empty for a pen.
