Guess the wine price game

Make the sheets View: A4 · Letter
Each guest gets a Quanto sheet with a numbered ring for every glass and, under each ring, two things to fill in: My price guess, a line for a number, and Cheap or pricey, two words to circle. At the foot sits one last question, The priciest was glass, and a box for its number. The host sheet carries the real prices you typed in, or lines to write them, beside each glass number, plus a Closest guess column for the reveal. That is all the game needs, which makes it the easiest wine game to start with: nobody has to know a grape or a region, only whether a wine tastes like money. It works for two to twelve people and four to eight bottles across a wide price range, and the sheets fill as many pages as the glasses need, side by side on the table.
Before anyone arrives, bag the bottles, tape a number to each and keep the price list on the host sheet, face down. Pour one glass at a time and give everyone a minute to write a price and circle a word before the next pour. When the last glass is done, someone asks "Quanto?" about glass one and you answer with the price, then move along the row. The guess nearest each price wins that glass, and the table finds out quickly whether its favourite was also its priciest. Print one Quanto sheet per guest, the host sheet, the tags and the reveal cards, which make each price feel like news. It works best when at least one cheap bottle is genuinely good. Small pours, water on the table and a spittoon keep everyone sharp for the last glass.
Questions
How do you play guess the wine price?
Hide the bottles, pour the same wines for everyone and have each guest write what they think every glass costs. At the reveal the host reads the real prices glass by glass, and the closest guess takes each one.
What wines work best for a price guessing game?
A wide spread, from a supermarket bottle to something you would buy for a celebration, ideally of one style so the price is the only big difference. Four to eight bottles is enough, and one surprise cheap winner makes the evening.
